It is amazing your level of ignorance. The Mint sold a 2 piece eagle set for a limited time. Not just your normal proof eagle but a reverse proof eagle (Thus the premium). That was and is the limited time. The fact that you didn’t buy this set just means you missed out on the chance to own a low production reverse proof period. The S mint in its self will be low mintage but the S mint reverse proof will be the one of lowest mintage in the series next to the 95 W which was only released in the 4 piece gold set. Educate yourself before your complaining the mint punked collectors!

The reverse proof in the two coin set from the San Francisco Mint in the first of it’s kind with an S mint mark. The coin in this coin and currency set is a proof coin and is not the first of it’s kind with an S mint mark.

It’s easy to copy and paste all the boilerplate and just change the numbers but when they do that and a part of the boilerplate is supposed to change it’s obvious that’s what they’re doing. So then I question what else are they not thinking about either? At one site I saw some proof numbers smaller than unc numbers (which never happens) meaning they entered them in the wrong order and at another place identical proof numbers from one year to the next. This mindless copy/paste and no verification against facts is what makes me skeptical about all these web sites. That’s why I continue to look for numbers from an official source.

Thanks for the link. This is what I’ve been looking for for a long time. I notice there is no note on that web page saying where they got their numbers from. If these are US Mint figures then I don’t see why they don’t just say so nor why such information is so proprietary that they have to copyright it. Be that as it may, it does back up annie’s 1995w proof SAE number. I’m still curious about where the US Mint publishes their numbers so that MCM and CoinNews are able to publish them on their own. I’ve written to CoinNews asking them where they get their numbers from and have gotten no response from them either. I just don’t understand why the US Mint is so reticent about disclosing these numbers to the public. At least now I have a web page to go to for this information and thanks for that.

I don’t get my collector coin mintages from the US Mint site because they don’t publish them, at least not where I could find them. Maybe they’re hidden in some secret web page you know about. That’s why I was asking for a link.

This is my problem. I went where you pointed to and immediately found a discrepancy. It says the 1995 proof SAE is mint mark S which is wrong; it’s P. Same error for 1994 proof SAE (that’s all I looked at). So I have no trust in this data. It also says the mintage of the 1995W SAE is 30,125 which annie says is an old number. Since annie is reluctant to point me to where on the US Mint website (or anywhere else) I can find mintage numbers for collector coins I have no reason to trust her numbers either, so my question remains unanswered. But thanks for your help, it was far better than annie’s vague response.
