2012 Presidential $1 Coin Cover, SF Quarters in 3rd Week of June

The third week of June, spanning from day 18 to 22, tips off new collector products from the United States Mint. Debuting first will be a Presidential $1 Coin Cover, followed later in the week by San Francisco quarters in bags and rolls.

Grover Cleveland’s (First Term) Presidential $1 Coin Cover kicks off Tuesday, June 19. It is the 22nd issue, and it features two circulating quality coins from the first day of production at the U.S. Mint facilities in Philadelphia and Denver, plus a 45-cent U.S. stamp.

2012 Presidential Coin Covers are $19.95, the same price as the 2011-dated issues. The U.S. Mint will accept collectors’ orders at this online product page.

Coming Thursday, June 21 is bags and rolls of the circulating quality 2012 El Yunque Quarters from San Francisco. The bags will contain 100 coins for $34.95, while the roll will consist of 40 coins and cost $18.95.

Each year U.S. Mint facilities in Philadelphia and Denver strike striking circulation quality coins for commerce while the San Francisco Mint produces proof coins for collectors. These new San Francisco quarters will be unique and available only for collector sale — they will not enter public circulation via channels in the federal banking system. The United States Mint will offer the new products on their respective release dates beginning at 12:00 noon ET. In addition to ordering via the Mint’s online catalog, collectors can place orders by phone at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).
