The US Mint never ceases to amaze me. Sometimes positively. Sometimes I just scratch my head. Okay, so their final 2011 sales figure for silver eagles was 39,868,500. Were they afraid of the 40 million mark? Very curious, because since January 1, 2012 was a Sunday and January 2 was a holiday, now they say that January 2012 sales (in just 2 or 3 days of work) has minted 3,372,000 silver eagles!!! There's no way those were all made in 2012 and not 2011. But why play with the figures? Oh, I forgot. It's a government thing. :-)
