I started on the web site at about 12:30 am, and could not get in. Tried again at about 3:30 pm and got as far as the checkout for 1 set and then was bumped off again, Finally at around 6:00 pm I get on again and completed my order. Received a confirmation at 6:06 from the mint that I had aan order. Since that time the mint has changed the shipping date three times. I figured I wsas out of luck.
have seen the Reverse Proof by it’s self sell for over $400 on eBay. And one guy even paid $3999.99 for 5 sets. Both of these sales were made in the last 30 days, according to eBay, completed auctions, serch results. I have also see the “S” coin go for close to $390 by it’s self. And the other 3 coins go for close to $300 by themselves with the case and COA. If you do the math, that’s over $1000 per five coin set, if you break them up. I would be thrilled to sell my 1 extra set for $1000. If you’re willing to pay the price, send email to bkjackson68@cox.net, but so it soon. It won’t last long!!

I know I complain about the mint, but I just keep buying, hoping to hit the big one. And I did. I bought 2 sets, and if I'm lucky, I can sell 1 set for more than I paid for 2. Help's take the edge off the huge investment of being a serious collector. I also bought the 2006 3-coin sets and made money. I bought the 2008 $5 gold buffalo's and made money. I bought the 2001 buffalo silver dollars and I made money. I bought the 1999 silver proof set and I made money. I could go on and on. But in a nut shell, that's how I can afford to continue collecting. If it weren't for the profits I have made over the years, I couldn't afford to be a serious collector.

So here's a big THANK YOU to the US Mint. Please keep up the production of the highly collectable coins. It makes it easier to afford in the long run.

I agree with Brian.
I have purchased Silver eagles from the US mint since 1986 and have a subscription. It is interesting that the sellers on ebay have the 5 coin sets in hand when the small collector cannot even get one sent at the issue price. I would like to say I wont purchase from the mint but I am a collector at heart.

Is that 'hog' or 'hoge'? Hogs would be coin dealers that paid employees to each order 5 sets and turn them over to dealer. Collectors that ordered 5 sets are just doing what the US Mint allowed. Ordering 1 set could be called being a hog in view of the fact that there are 300 million + people in the US and only 100,000 sets. No one forced anybody to make a purchase. And if you wanted to purchase 1 or 5, you knew it was going to be tough to get through. Or if a hog, should I say 'trough'?

Sometimes you just have to vent your dissatisfaction to others, besides the U.S. Mint. I also got hit with the $10 "surcharge for the unc and proof Silver Eagles. If I hadn't ordered the amount I did, I would have ordered a few more to bring the price per coin, down a bit. However, I would have had to order too many, just to bring the price per coin, down $5. So, I eat the worm, on this one. But, when I ordered the 5 ounce quarter for 279 and before it was even shipped it went on sale for $229, I tried to cancel but I couldn't. When I asked the Mint if they were going to refund the $50, they said, "No way Hoe Say!" So, when it arrived, I sent it back, which cost me $10.95 and the $4.85 shipping and ordered it again at the current $229. So, I got at least $36 back.
Now for today's debacle. I finally got in and ordered 3, 33 minutes after they went on sale. After mulling it over, I tried to get back on, to get the other two sets. For over three hours, getting kicked off, getting on, getting kicked off, finally getting my cart, without signing it, to add two more sets, I attempted to sign in. That was a trip, but finally it welcomed me back. I went directly to the checkout, froze up a few times, and got to the "place order" page. I hit the "Place Order" button, and Nada! Nothing! Bupkus!. About 5 minutes later, my e-mail dinged and there was an e-mail from the mint, accepting my order for two moresets. It was 4:42PM. I must have been almost the last one to get the order in and acknowledged.
I never got the Buffalo Dollars, nor the 20th Anniversary Gold set, but I managed to get this one. I'm sorry, really, I am for those who weren't able to get in. With all the coin dealers, offering fast profits for unopened boxes and without a doubt, every employee of those coin dealers ordering, it's a wonder that any of us got to get in, at all. Mine are for my grandchildren, and not for the dealers. The boxes will never be opened, until I give them to the kids, after I send them in to get the Anniversary lable on them.

@ the other Brian: I did complain to the Mint. They said they would not refund the difference. I have a subscription, they intentionally screwed all subscibers on this. They price of Silver is a bit higher now than it was when they priced them at $60 and cheated the subscribers.
