The limit was raised to 5 per family for the newest one and they are supspending sales for repricing. There is still hope for this series.
Lots of excitement when they first came out. If only the mint cared about collectors.

Thanks, I’ll check it out. Maybe it is a good time to scour the market for panic-stricken sellers. Last time I bought silver in any qty was when it was rising from 30 to 35/oz. Then I stopped. I wonder what the boys at “The Coin Vault” will have to say this evening about silver’s crash. I love their merchandise, but not their prices.

In your “All things Gettysburg” theory, maybe the bullion version is a great buy, specially with this fire sale prices… I saw you can get them graded PCGS MS-69 First Strike from APMEX for about $180.

point taken, that is if you intend to buy one and melt it down on your stove.

I’m referring to the potential numismatic collector value combined with the upcoming excitement surrounding the historical subject matter of the coin. Combine those two essential ingredients and I’m betting this is a $500 collector’s item in 2013.

current price of silver $35 X 5 = $175.

Another thing that “should” spur sales along is the approaching 150th anniversary of the battle itself, July 1-2-3 of 2013. All things “Gettysburg” may be hot collectibles by then, so those folks with some vision might want to get ahead of the curve..
