Perhaps someone could explain why if the Mint sold PROOF Platinum Coins (10,000) the reason you would need to get them graded?? If I buy a proof coin from the Mint doesn't that avoid the need for a grading structure? Or is there suspicion about the coin degrading in appearance if handled?
And how do they know a first strike - PCGS graded PR70 DCAM First Strike - is this another way of expressing Proof? - thank you for any input for a beginner in the field.
