US Mint September 2010 Product Releases

Mint Coin CalendarJames Buchanan related products dominate United States Mint releases during the month of September.

Buchanan Presidential dollars were issued last month (August 19), but Buchanan was the only U.S. President never to marry and, therefore, his image will also be featured on the next two proof and uncirculated First Spouse Gold Coins as well as the companion bronze medal.

Up for release toward the end of September is the fourth of five America the Beautiful Quarters™. The Grand Canyon National Park Quarter will be launched into circulation on September 20. Its ceremonial release is scheduled for the following day at 1:30 p.m. (MST), on the park’s South Rim, between Hopi House and Verkamp’s Visitor Center.

Currently, the Mint does not have any products set for issue in October. Although it is expected that around then it will begin producing bullion 2010 America the Beautiful 5 oz Silver Coins and possibly have the first one ready for distribution.

There is not any new information as to whether proof and uncirculated American Gold and Silver Eagles will be issued this year.
