Steve Deeds Retires as President; Assumes New Role

Bowers and Merena AuctionsIrvine, CA Bowers and Merena Auctions, a leading rare coin and currency auction house, will present one of the most important U.S. coin rarity auctions in recent years.

Bowers and Merena’s Boston Rarities Auction, to be held prior to the ANA’s World Fair of Money on Saturday, August 7, will include a 1794 Dollar graded MS-64 (NGC) valued at over one million dollars, and two mid-six-figure coins: an 1870-S Silver Dollar and an 1854-O $20 Gold piece, both key date rarities. In all, over 1,500 coins will be auctioned in the sale.

Bowers and Merena also announced that its president, Steve Deeds, is stepping down from his full-time position to pursue other coin-related interests, and will continue to have an ongoing role with the company.
