Perth Mint LogoAs part of the 2010 Melbourne Coin, Banknote and Stamp Show, hosted by the Australasian Numismatic Dealers Association (ANDA), The Perth Mint will present four keynote speeches from some of the country’s most prominent bullion and numismatic experts.

With the price of gold reaching an all time high this week, these presentations will be a timely introduction to a range of alternative investment options that are sure to captivate audiences.

Perth Mint Senior Analyst, Bron Suchecki, will outline the different options available for bullion investment including coins and bars, certificate programs, storage options and the Australian Stock Exchange.

Economic and monetary historian and CEO of Bullionmark, Mark van der Sluys, will give a not to be missed two-part presentation covering the subjects of ‘Gold as Money’ and ‘The Role of Gold in an Investment Portfolio’.

Andrew Crellin, Managing Director of Sterling and Currency and renowned industry author, will provide an introduction to his new book titled ‘Trading Coins for Wealth’, written to give an insight into how successful collectors approach their craft.

Managing Director of The Rare Coin Company, Rob Jackman, will also give investors the benefit of his 26 years experience in the industry with a seminar on the intricacies of investing in rare coins and banknotes for private portfolios.

Mr Suchecki will draw on his 16 years experience in the precious metal markets to dispense away with some of the pretension regarding gold investment and present the cold, hard, albeit glittering facts.

"There has been talk of a new ‘gold rush’ for quite some time now, so I want to provide new investors with some insights on how to invest that will cut through a lot of the misinformation surrounding gold at the moment," Mr Suchecki says.

"Topics covered will include where to buy, the argument of coins versus bars, storage options, certificate programs, gold ETF’s on the Australian Stock Exchange and privacy and security considerations."

Featuring more than 50 exhibitors from all over Australia, the Melbourne ANDA Show will have more than $10 million worth of coins, banknotes, stamps and other collectables for sale, making it a great day out for collectors, gift buyers and the whole family. There will also be $1,000 worth of prizes to be won, door prizes every hour and exclusive show specials available.

Entry to the show is just $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for concession card holders, and children under the age of 15 years accompanied by an adult are free. Two day passes are also available for only $15.00 ($12.00 for concession).

About the Perth Mint

The Perth Mint is the official issuer of the Australian Federal Government’s Gold and Silver Bullion Coin Program but is wholly-owned by the State Government of Western Australia. It opened in 1899 as the third Australian branch of Britain’s Royal Mint in response to rich gold deposits in nearby Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie.

The Perth Mint remained under Britain’s jurisdiction until 1 July 1970, when ownership transferred to the State Government of Western Australia.
