The Mint does it again... I was logged on to the US Mint's Web page about 10min before 12:00 noon 3/23/10 ready for the Boy Scout's commemorative coin to be listed. We the site started taking orders I place my order for 100 of the Centennial Uncirculated Silver Dollar (BY2). The screen was very slow but when my order was confirmed by email from the mint the time was 12:02 with a ship date of 3/24/10. I called my bank card to let them know I was making a large purchase and the bank confirmed everything was good and there would be problems processing the purchase. So it is not a bank issue.

Well this morning by 5:30am they had changed the ship date to 4/8/10 a day later than what they had been showing for anyone who placed an order anytime Wednesday. So they are not filling order on a first come first serve basis or they are only mint a handful of coins before they go on sale, neither of these speak well of the mint. If they are not filling the order because it is for the maximum 100 coins then they are treating there best customers very poorly. If they have not minted enough coins to handle sales for the first two minutes of the coins listing then the mint is hopelessly not prepared for the coin listing. Well I cancelled my order, Just have been sideswiped by the US Mint another time... What you should expect from government after all it owes over 12 trillion dollar and adding trillions to that amount every year now. Maybe minting US coins could be outsourced to China?
