I am ok with these fake coins but do understand how they are being sold off as originals. I am a younger collector for about 10 years. I only collect and only by from sites that I could visit in person but would only buy from Ebay or others only with a graded capsule from one of the grading companies. The only coins I have are certified so I or others know what they are. I would like to see that any coin of value of 100 to be certified and cross my fingers that these fake coins never pass certification as originals or you can kiss it all away.

Richard- All I can say is that I agree with you 100% I was a big E-Bay buyer last year and into this year and as of a month ago I will no longer purchase my coins on e-bay.

I now buy from a local coin dealer in Northern Ohio!

I believe the Treasury Dept should check ebay, (among others) for this practice. They have been warned repeatedly about some of the sellers, selling counterfeit, or "replica coins. they seem to think it is okay. I for one will not but any coin that is not genuine, and tested to be the genuine article. If I can't test tyhe coin, there will be no deal.
The United States should get very aggressive in the halting of the importing of these counterfeit coins, by imposing heavy fines dor the first incident, and shutting down the business, on the second incident.
Ebay should police itself for this ongoing practice, but (boesn't)
