2009 William Henry Harrison Presidential $1 Coin Rolls25-coin rolls of 2009 William Henry Harrison Presidential $1 Coins are now on sale at the United States Mint for $35.95, plus $4.95 for shipping and handling.

Sales kicked-off Thursday, three days after the Mint ceremoniously launched the coins from Harrison’s old Virginia home at the Berkeley Plantation.

The coins are available with the Denver "D" or the Philadelphia "P" mint marks and are issued in circulating condition, but have never been circulated.

Bags of the coins are not for sale, unlike past Presidential $1 coin offerings. They are also not listed — at least yet — in the Direct Ship Program section of the Mint’s site, where $250 boxes of $1 coins are sold for face value (no shipping or other premium add-ons).

The 25-coin rolls may be purchased online through the US Mint pages:

Or by calling 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).  Hearing- and speech-impaired customers with TTY equipment may call 1-888-321-MINT (6468). The rolls are the same price as 2008 issues.

2009 Presidential $1 Proof Sets went on sale Feb. 10 for the price of $14.95. In addition to the proof William Henry Harrison dollar, it includes proof versions for the forthcoming circulating 2009 issues of the John Tyler, James Polk and Zachary Taylor coins.

I think I’ll wait till they make their way to my local bank. Paying $40 for $25 worth of regular, everyday currency doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. I’d much rather wait a couple weeks and pay $25 for $25 worth of currency. There’s no precious metal content in these, after all.

Have you seen a William Henry Harrison $1 coin where his portrait is in a silver color but the rest of the coin is the gold color? I have one and I didnt know if they were all coming out like this? My other presidents are all gold but I dont have another Harrison to compare it to.
