“Coin Network” Launched: New Social Network, Resource for Collectors

(White Plains, NY) – Coin Network (www.CoinNetwork.com), a new social network for coin collectors, is now available free online as a numismatic resource and interactive community.  The new site was launched by Michael Zielinski, Webmaster and creator of the popular coin sites, CoinUpdate.com and MintNewsBlog.com.

"Coin Network is a place for both beginners to learn about America’s favorite hobby as well as for long-time and advanced collectors to connect and interact in ways previously not possible," explained Zielinski.

In just the first few days of its formal launch, December 15, 2008, Coin Network attracted nearly 300 participants from the United States and fifteen other countries.

All Coin Network members can create their own, dedicated profile pages to post information about themselves, their collecting interests and collections. Specialized groups can be formed by the members to share their common interests. Fourteen groups have already been created, including separate groups for collectors of Lincoln Cents, Indian coins and German coins.

In addition, members have the ability to upload photos and videos, participate in forums, create blogs, and use messaging features to communicate with other members. The site also holds periodic, free contests open to all members.

"Coin Network provides members with unique personalization and opportunities to connect and interact with other coin collectors.  Our goal is to make it an exciting and educational destination for anyone interested in coin collecting,” said Zielinski.

"According to the United States Mint, there are 147 million coin collectors in the United States.  It’s about time we had our own social network."
