Although, I wouldn’t doubt this is just another attempt to suppress the price of gold by keeping the premium high to discourage buying bullion and lower the demand. However, the US Treasury, in their infinite wisdom, will not have the foresight to know people will turn to Canadian Maple leafs or other mints.
