James Monroe Presidential $1 Dollar Coins Enter Circulation, Bags and Rolls for SaleJames Monroe Presidential Dollars were ceremoniously launched yesterday at Ash Lawn-Highland, the estate of the President Monroe.

Today at 12:00 noon (ET), Bags and Rolls of new $1 coins went on sale through the United States Mint and the dollar coins officially entered circulation through banks.

Finding presidential $1 coins in circulation or in banks has proven to be a difficult task in many areas of the U.S. and, although a premium is paid, many coin collectors purchase the coins directly from the United States Mint.

The Mint offers the presidential $1 coins in 250-coin bags and 25-coin rolls that may be purchased with either the Philadelphia, “P”, or Denver, “D”, mint mark.

Where is the Monroe dollar being distributed in Florida?

I got all my others from My bank – They do not have these? Why?

Maggie

I found one on the ground where I work. I had no clue what it was and had to come on here to see. I work at Northrop Grumman and it was way in a parking lot.

Tennessee

Same here Maggie I found one on the street today in NYC and had to come here to see if it in fact was real. what happened to the $1 dollar gold coin with the Native American Indian on it ? the Susan B. Anthony that came out in 1979 never worked because it was too much like a quarter.

I feel lucky now !

Nic

I was at Washington D.C. National Zoo when I bought a refrigerator magnet I got one back instead of a one dollar bill. I thought it was really interesting.

Q: Is there any information that the J. Monroe dollars were said to have the most errors in the $1.00 presidential coin program?
