Examples of a few mint error photos found in the Error Coin Price Guide added to CoinNews Courtesy of minterrornews.com)An error coin is a coin that was manufactured incorrectly by a mint. Many times called mint errors, error coins come in scores of “shapes, sizes and types.”

Collecting mint errors is intriguing, but it’s hard to find centralized resources, let alone price charts for the coins.

There is one location, minterrornews.com that has amassed excellent error coin information, prices and photos.

With the help and generosity of Mike Byers, publisher and editor of minterrrornews.com, we were able to add a reference to their Error Coin Price Guide within CoinNews.

The "Table of Contents" of the guide is a solid resource you can use to visually track many types of error coins using the descriptive photos. Once that’s accomplished, you can click the coin photo to find more information about the specific mint error as well as browse recent examples of selling prices.

You’ll find the Error Coin Price Guide located on the CoinNews ‘Coin Pricing & Collector Tools‘ menu or directly on the page:

I’d like to thank Mike again for his generosity. It’s always refreshing to find business owners that share their hard work and provide excellent information to collectors for free.

The new on line error coin price guide is a good thing, but it neglects to mention “clip” errors. I’d guess that most major Mint error’s are outside of the price range of the average coin collector. Clips (single and multiple) are more affordable and in my opinion should be included in the listings.
