Boston $2 Single Notes for Collectors on Sale

2008 Boston First Day $2 Single NotesThe Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) announced on Wednesday the sale of 2008 $2 Boston notes. These series of banknotes are extremely popular with collectors with all previous 2008 singles sold out within hours of their launch.

A limit of 25 units per household are always in affect, which means the notes could potentially sell out with just 400 total orders, making ordering speed all the more important.

Another Repeat, 2008 Philadelphia $2 Single Note Sells Out

2008 Philadelphia First Day $2 Single Notes, sold outThe 2008 Philadelphia $2 Single Note sold out within hours, replicating previous collector $2 note sell out performances. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) placed the limited 10,000 notes on sale at 9:00 AM and they were gone before 11:30 AM.

The sale of Philadelphia notes were initially delayed by the BEP in June due to system maintenance. Whether their postponement helped heighten their demand is difficult to know given past $2 banknote offering from the Reserve Banks Atlanta, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Richmond and Cleveland also sold out within a few short hours.

BEP Sends 2008 Philadelphia $2 Single Note Reminder

2008 Philadelphia First Day $2 Single Note PackagingThe 2008 Philadelphia $2 Single collector note will be released Monday, October 20 at 9 A.M. EDT, a Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) e-mail sent Thursday reminded customers. These are the same notes that were delayed in June due to BEP system maintenance.

The banknotes are priced at $7.85 each, with a limit of "25 units" per household.

Collectors will want to mark their calendar and be on their toes for the sprint to place orders, as each of the previous $2 notes were sold out within hours.

2008 Cleveland $2 Single Notes are SOLD OUT!

2008 Cleveland First Day $2 Single Notes, sold outThe 2008 Cleveland First Day $2 Single Notes went on sale Wednesday at 7:30 A.M. EDT, and were gone within hours. “Sold-Out” was the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) message that customers saw online Wednesday morning.

With the Cleveland notes having a limited 10,000 quantity, and each in crisp, uncirculated condition with a beginning serial number of “2008xxxxD,” the banknotes were quickly grabbed up — just as this year’s previous Atlanta, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas and Richmond collector $2 offerings.

New Sale Dates for Cleveland and Philadelphia $2 Notes

2008 Cleveland and Philadelphia $2 Collector NotesThe Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has announced new sale dates of October 1 for the 2008 Cleveland $2 Single Notes and October 20 for the 2008 Philadelphia $2 Single Notes. Both collector notes will be available on their respective days at 7:20 A.M. EDT. Each has a price tag of $7.95.

In May, the BEP delayed Cleveland note sales "due to system maintenance." That was followed in June by a similar announcement delaying Philadelphia notes. The two were actually skipped over with the release of the Richmond $2 singles in late July.

The $2 collector series are extremely popular. Each previous offering from designated Reserve Banks Atlanta, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, and Richmond sold out within a few short hours.

Philadelphia Note Joins Cleveland $2 Single Delay

Philadelphia $2 Single Note Joins Cleveland DelayThe Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) announced the release of the 2008 Cleveland $2 Single Notes for collectors only to later announce its delay. Today, the BEP notified its customers that the Philadelphia $2 Single Note would be delayed as well.

The announcement said,

 

The BEP will postpone the release of the 2008 $2 Single Philadelphia Note previously scheduled for Monday, June 23.

No date has been determined for rescheduling the release of this product. This postponement is due to system maintenance improvements.

BEP Delays Sale of Cleveland $2 Single Note

2008 Cleveland First Day $2 Single Notes DelayedThe Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) had announced Monday’s release of the 2008 Cleveland $2 Single Notes for collectors. However, a follow-up message sent to customers on Tuesday, May 27, indicates there will be an unspecified delay in their sale.

The BEP message said in part,

 

"Due to system maintenance the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will postpone the release of the 2008 $2 Single Cleveland Note. Please check our website"

 

After two days, there is no indication of a new date for release, and the original sale date for the note was changed to: "to be determined".

BEP Sets Release Day of $2 Cleveland Note for June 2, 2008

2008 Cleveland First Day $2 Single NotesWith the recently announced and already sold out $2 Dallas note, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has sent out availability notices of the upcoming 2008 Cleveland $2 Single Notes for June 2, 2008.

Notes in these series typically sellout within hours. With the $2 Dallas BEP note, the BEP threw in an extra hiccup when their online ordering system went down for the day.

With an already fast-paced selling series, the inability to order notes online frustrated collectors further, as some could not get through phone lines. Planning is a must to purchase notes from this series. And, unfortunately, sometimes that is not enough. A touch of luck is helpful.

2008 Chicago First Day $2 Single Notes

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has announced that the new 2008 Dallas $2 Single Notes are available today, May 12, 2008.

The Dallas banknotes are the fifth $2 collector bill released in 2008. The Atlanta $2 single notes were first off printing presses in January followed by the New York $2 notes in February, the San Francisco $2 notes in March and the Chicago $2 notes in April.

Interested collectors should purchase early since previous $2 notes sold out almost within hours of their availability.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has announced First Day 2008 Chicago $2 Single Notes will become available on April 21, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. (DST).

The Chicago note will be the fourth $2 collector bill released in 2008. The Atlanta $2 single notes were first off the printing presses in January followed by the New York $2 notes in February and the San Francisco $2 notes in March.

Each of the previous notes were sold out almost within hours of their availability.
