Finest Known 1907 UHR Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle at Santa Clara Expo

(Santa Clara, California) – The finest known 1907 Ultra High Relief Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle gold coin, insured for $5 million, will be displayed during the first three days of the Santa Clara, California Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo to be conducted November 19 – 22, 2009.

The show will be held in the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway, where free parking is available.

 

"This magnificent-looking Ultra High Relief is graded PCGS Proof-69, and will be exhibited courtesy of Certified Assets Management of Wilmington, Delaware," said Ronald J. Gillio, Expo General Chairman.

"This famous coin was designed by renowned sculptor, Augustus Saint-Gaudens, at the personal request of President Theodore Roosevelt.  It was struck seven times to bring up all the beautiful features in the design.  There are less than 20 known surviving examples, and this is the finest.  There is no other example certified higher," said Bob Higgins, President of Certified Assets Management.

Teletrade Now Official Santa Clara Expo Auctioneer

Ron Gillio and Irma KaneTeletrade, the largest fully-automated telephone and Internet auction company for certified coins, paper money and sportscards, has been named the official auctioneer of the twice-a-year Santa Clara Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo beginning with the next show, November 19 – 22, 2009, in the Santa Clara, California Convention Center. 

The deadline for consignments for the Santa Clara auction is November 2.

 

"The timing of the regularly-scheduled Teletrade auctions in conjunction with the Santa Clara Expo will be excellent for buyers and sellers across the country as well as those who come to the show in person," said Ronald J. Gillio, Expo General Chairman.

Giant Gold Rush Ingots at Long Beach Expo

(Long Beach, California) — Two huge California Gold Rush era assayers’ ingots, recovered from the fabled SS Central America and with a combined weight of over 100 pounds of gold, will be exhibited at the next Long Beach Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo, September 10 – 12, 2009, in the Long Beach, California Convention Center, 100 S. Pine Ave.

"The display will feature a Kellogg & Humbert gold bar that weighs 662.28 ounces and a Justh & Hunter ingot that is 598.08 Troy ounces.

Both were recovered in the late 1980’s from the Central America, the legendary ‘Ship of Gold’ that was carrying tons of California Gold Rush coins and ingots to New York City when it sank during a hurricane in 1857," said Ronald J. Gillio, Expo General Chairman.
