The Bronze First Spouse medals were initially scheduled for June and then July. The U.S. Mint held off but now has this year’s complete set ready for sale.
The set includes 1 5/16 inch medals of Martha Washington, Abigail Adams, Thomas Jefferson’s Liberty, and Dolley Madison. All are packaged together in a custom envelope with a descriptive insert about the spouses and the program. The price for the set is $12.95.
The first three Presidential Spouse gold coins sold out during their first day and within hours of release and the Dolley Madison isn’t yet available. For some, these bronze medals may be the only way to own something from the official commemorative First Spouse Program.

For the lucky few able to get one of the Jefferson Liberty First Spouse Gold Coins, take heart. If you haven’t already received yours, they’re on the way.
And the coins are, if you’ll forgive me… SWEEET!
Although variation in delivery dates were given based on order times, no orders were actually shipped when the Jefferson Spouse coins were first sold on August 30th.
The U.S. Mint receipts listed the coins in the "backordered" category for everyone.

The United States Mint has released the 2007 Jefferson $1 Coin Covers. The limited edition covers contain two Jefferson $1 Coins that were minted on the first day of production.
One coin is from the Philadelphia Mint while the other is from the Denver Mint. Also included on the cover is an American Flag postage stamp and a postmark date of August 16, 2007, which indicates the day the coins were first released.
There’s a limit in place of 10 orders per household, which will be re-evaluated after thirty days. However, given there’s a total limit set at 50,000, the Jefferson covers may not be available beyond those thirty days.

A week ago from today, August 15, the United States Mint held a release ceremony for the new Thomas Jefferson Presidential $1 Coins. A video of the event sure would have been nice!
But wouldn’t it be great if you could at least see photos from the ceremony? Well, now you can and right here! Fortunately, someone in the news media was taking photos and looking out for those of us who couldn’t attend.
If you’ve never been to a U.S. Mint event before, these photos give you an idea of some of the ceremony trappings and details. By far, the absolute best photos are those showing the kids having a great time. Of course, all the kids received a free, sparkling Jefferson Presidential $1 coin. You can bet that helped bring smiles to their faces.

Are the new Jefferson Presidential $1 Coins really released into circulation? Have you seen any? Or was the United States Mint ceremony announcing their release just marketing hoopla and a government cover story?
Well, there’s no question the U.S. Mint’s ceremony the other day had its fair share of marketing, but there’s nothing wrong with that. And I expect it’s not their fault that trying to get freshly minted Jefferson dollars seems as impossible as tracking down a flying saucer around Area 51!
Getting the new $1 coin rolls from a bank in my city wasn’t easy. In fact, I couldn’t! I spent Saturday trying to track down some of the Jefferson $1 coin rolls and, wow, what a pain and what an experience.

Don’t forget to pick up or order your new Thomas Jefferson $1 coins tomorrow! The United States Mint had their official roll-out ceremony today where they handed out circulating versions of the Jefferson Presidential $1 coin. Special collectible proof versions have been available for some time. The new $1 coins offered by the mint come in rolls and bags.
Since these Jefferson coins come straight from the U.S. Mint, although they’re circulated versions just like those being released into the general public tomorrow, they’ve actually never been "circulated". As such, they’re more attractive to coin collectors and coin enthusiasts. You’re going to have to pay more for them, however. A 25-Dollar roll will cost you $35.95. And don’t forget about the shipping and handling charges!
Of course you don’t have to order the new circulating Jefferson $1 coins from the mint. Most banks and financial institutions already have them and you’ll be able to get the new dollar coins tomorrow. Since the coins are brand new, you’ll likely be able to pick some up and they’ll be in the same condition as those being released by the mint through their roll and mint bag program.
