Egyptian Couple Find Possible Rare Coin Worth Millions and Shrouded in U.S. History
Qatar Ar-Raya newspaper reported that an Egyptian couple discovered a rare coin that could be a legendary Saint-Gaudens 1933 $20 Double Eagle.
These particular coins have an extremely unique and fascinating history. According to the 2008 Official Red Book®—A Guide Book of United States Coins, only 13 specimens are known to have survived.
In fact, the U.S. Treasury indicates only one 1933 $20 Double Eagle has ever been monetized and issued by the United States Mint.
