2011 American Eagle Silver Bullion CoinAnother month in 2011 wrapped up, and another sales record was set. Last month ended up earning the “Best Ever September” and the second best month in the history for the American Eagle Silver bullion coin.

September started off very slow compared to the prior month, only 175,000 had been purchased in the first eight days and still less than 1 million by mid-month. Once the price of silver tumbled, however, from around $40 to $30 an ounce, sales of the American Eagle Silver began to soar. Buyers picked up 3,534,500 in the last half of the month, which moved September sales to 4,460,500 [...]

2011-W Uncirculated American Silver EagleOn Thursday, September 15, 2011 at noon Eastern Time, the United States Mint launched the 2011-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle for $60.45.

The uncirculated Silver Eagle is reappearing after a two year absence. High demand for the bullion Silver Eagle was listed as the reason for not minting an uncirculated 2009 or 2010-dated strike.

Two different and previously released 2011 American Silver Eagle coins have been selling extremely well. The United States Mint’s network of [...]

Available from the Mint in four sizes and in terms of the number of gold coins sold, the 22-karat bullion coins were split with sales of 103,500 for the one ounce [...]

2011 Uncirculated Silver Eagle

Following two years of silence, the 2011 uncirculated Silver Eagle is set to make a comeback next month, according to an updated product schedule from the United States Mint.

The Mint’s online schedule indicates that the newest American Silver Eagle is ready for a September 29, 2011 release at a yet to be determined price. The release date is not set in stone, as the Mint’s schedule has been tweaked before after a coin addition. But changes this late into the year are less common.

The uncirculated Silver Eagle is one of the most popular products offered by the United States Mint, although it is the least purchased among the three versions produced. Perhaps one reason is its youth [...]

2011 American Gold Eagle Bullion Coin

More ounces of American Gold Eagle bullion coins left United States Mint doors in July 2011 than during the previous month, owing to a greater exodus of the largest one-ounce version. Last month was one of the better July’s in the 22-karat gold coins’ history.

However, and to the negatives with a backdrop kept in mind in which gold prices surged 8.5 percent in July to hit several records, Gold Eagle sales were not superb when compared against other recent months. The monthly pace was the second slowest in 2011. Also, in comparing similar time frames, total sales remained significantly lower than levels from the same period in 2010 and 2009 [...]
