2012 ATB Quarters Uncirculated Set - 2012 Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set

Today, April 24, the United States Mint released two new collector sets, the America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Set and the Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set.

Prices for the annual products are somewhat near each other, with the ATB Quarters Uncirculated Set listed at a price of $12.95 — $9 less than last year’s release, and the Presidential Dollar Proof Set at $18.95 — $1 less than last year’s issue.

Included in the America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Set is a total of 10 coins which are produced to uncirculated qualities. Five of the coins were struck at the Denver Mint and the other five were produced at the Philadelphia Mint — the same facilities responsible for striking circulating American coinage. The included coins in the set are the:

  • 2012 P&D El Yunque National Forest Quarter for Puerto Rico
  • 2012 P&D Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarter for New Mexico
  • 2012 P&D Acadia National Park Quarter for Maine
  • 2012 P&D Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Quarter for Hawaii
  • 2012 P&D Denali National Park Quarter for Alaska

These quarters are presented in an attractive folded card which includes information on each coin and the honored national sites.

Included in the Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set is a total of four coins which are produced to proof qualities. The dollars are struck at the San Francisco Mint and include:

  • 2012-S Chester Arthur Presidential $1 Coin
  • 2012-S Grover Cleveland Presidential $1 Coin (first term)
  • 2012-S Benjamin Harrison Presidential $1 Coin
  • 2012-S Grover Cleveland Presidential $1 Coin (second term)

These coins mark the 21st through the 24th in the series, as they honor the 21st through the 24th Presidents of the United States. They are packaged within one plastic, protective lens which is placed within a U.S. Mint branded box.

In terms of popularity, the proof set is the leader. Last year’s set had sales of 288,208 as of Monday, April 23, while last year’s ATB Quarters Uncirculated Set had sales of 32,611.

Both collectible products may be purchased directly from the U.S. Mint website at http://catalog.usmint.gov/, or by calling 1-888-321-MINT (6468).
