Andrew Johnson $1 Coin and Glacier Quarter

The United States Mint this week ended sales of rolls and bags of the Glacier quarter and rolls of Andrew Johnson $1 coins. The products are now listed in the U.S. Mint’s "No Longer Available" section of its website at http://catalog.usmint.gov/.

Glacier quarters and Andrew Johnson $1 Coins did not sellout, per say — even though the United States Mint has them listed with red, bolded words of ‘Sold Out’. In addition to true sellouts, the "sold out" naming convention is a standard method used by the U.S. Mint to describe products whose sales times have expired.

With the Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarter released on Monday, April 2, 2012 and the Chester Arthur $1 coin launching on Thursday, April 5, 2012, sales of the Mint’s two oldest products within the same series were simply ended.

25-coin rolls of the Andrew Johnson $1 coin were released on February 23, 2011. They were the first of four 2011-dated Presidential dollars issued for the year. United States Mint sales as of April 2, 2012 indicate that buyers ordered 32,305 of the rolls filled with Philadelphia minted dollars and 30,739 of the rolls struck in Denver. Circulating $1 coin production figures for 2011 published by the United States Mint show 37.1 million Johnson $1 coins were produced in Denver and 35.56 million in Philadelphia, for a combined total of 72.66 million.

Rolls and bags of Glacier National Park Quarters were released on April 4, 2011. They were the second of five 2011-dated America the Beautiful Quarters released last year. The latest U.S. Mint sales figures have two-roll sets at 28,117. The 100-coin bags from Philadelphia are at 3,741 and 100-coin bags from Denver are at 3,896. Circulating Glacier quarter production figures show 31.2 million were produced in Denver and 30.4 million in Philadelphia, for a combined total of 61.6 million.
