The United States Mint announced the availability of the 2007 U.S. Mint Silver Proof Set. The set includes 14 coins, like the clad proof set. However, seven of the coins contain 90% silver, unlike the clad set. The price for the proof set was announced at $44.95.

The United States Mint announced that the sales of the Thomas Jefferson's Liberty First Spouse Gold Coin would begin on August 30th at 12:00 noon (ET). It was also announced that order limits would be set to one 1/2-ounce proof and one 1/2-ounce uncirculated per household. These coins are 24-karat and limited to 20,000 each. Previous spousal coins in this series sold out quickly. |

The U.S. Mint announced that they displayed the 12 gold, 22-karat, Sacagawea Dollars at the American Numismatic Association's World's Fair of Money® in Milwaukee. These 12 coins are "one of a kind" and were flown aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia back in 1999. This was the first ever public display of the gold coins. |
