The last of the 2012-P America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins makes its sales debut on Monday, November 5, 2012.
Each coin in the series is struck from five ounces of 99.9% fine silver. Unlike the previous one released with a price tag of $204.95 when silver prices were at $33.73 an ounce, the latest 2012-P America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Coin celebrating Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska will cost $229.95 at a time when silver is below $31 an ounce.
Prices for five-ounce and other silver coins were raised in October by the United States Mint when silver briefly moved toward $35 an ounce. Unfortunately for coin collectors, it appears silver coin price reductions are unlikely unless silver consistently returns to below $30 an ounce.
