Eliza Johnson First Spouse Gold Coin

Eliza Johnson First Spouse Gold Coins are no longer sold by the United States Mint as the proof moved to the bureau’s "sold out/no longer available" category on June 20, 2012 and the uncirculated did so earlier on June 5, 2012.

Factors can change going forward, but currently Eliza Johnson gold coins boast the lowest total sales of any of the no longer available coins. Lower sales equal lower mintages and that can add to a coin’s value long term.

Collectors have purchased 6,811 of the Eliza Johnson coins. Broken out, sales are 3,906 for the proof and 2,905 for the uncirculated. The total for the proof gold coin is the lowest of all the non available proofs. The uncirculated gold coin ranks second, immediately behind the scarcest uncirculated Julia Tyler issue at 2,861.

Here’s a breakdown of all the First Spouse Gold Coins that have been released since the series introduction in 2007 and each of the coin’s latest sales as of Monday, June 18, 2012:
