Below are quick summaries of the U.S. Mint September 2012 product schedule and their estimated prices:

09.04.2012 – Hawaii Volcanoes Quarters Three-Coin Set

Coin Category: America the Beautiful Quarters | Opening Price: $9.95

One item that will start off with about 10,000 orders in its first week is the Hawaii Volcanoes Quarters Three-Coin Set. It is the fourth of its kind this year and the 14th overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. The Volcano quarter honors Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park located in the state of Hawaii, and its reverse design highlights a massive eruption of lava on the east rift of Kilauea Volcano. What makes the three coin set so popular is that it has one proof 2012-S, one uncirculated 2012-P and one uncirculated 2012-D Volcano quarter for only $9.95.

09.06.2012 – 2012 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set

Category: Special Collectibles

This Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set is making a comeback. It includes a West Point 2012-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle, four Philadelphia 2012-P Presidential $1 Coins honoring Chester Arthur, Grover Cleveland (first term), Benjamin Harrison and Grover Cleveland (second term), and a Denver 2012-D Native American $1 Coin.

09.18.2012 – Benjamin Harrison Presidential $1 Coin Cover

Coin Category: Presidential Dollars | Opening Price: $19.95

Most likely demand will be high when the 2012 Benjamin Harrison Presidential $1 Coin Cover launches, if the prior issue honoring Grover Cleveland is any indication. About 12,000 are expected to sell in the first week. Collectors are attracted to this product because it offers two Harrison dollars from the first day of minting. The coin from Denver was struck on April 20 and the one from Philadelphia was produced on April 26, 2012. These strikes are packaged on a display card along with one of the five U.S. 45-cent Weather Vane postage stamps, postmarked September 18, 2012, Indianapolis, IN.

09.24.2012 – 2012-P Hawaii Volcanoes 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin

Coin Category: National Park Silver Coins | Opening Price: $204.95

Due to its five ounces of .999 fine silver, the U.S. Mint could change the price of the Hawaii Volcanoes 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin. This massive, three inch diameter coin, with edge incused lettering of its fineness and weight, is the fourth collectible of its kind with the 2012 date. It features the same designs that are on the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park Quarter released on August 27. 2012 America the Beautiful Uncirculated Silver Five Ounce coins have a mintage limit of 25,000 per design.

Other 2012 Numismatic Products from the U.S. Mint Not Yet Scheduled

Not a single date for the 2012 First Spouse Gold Coins and Bronze Medals has been announced, although they could come out at any point now. The U.S. Mint sited production issues and once resolved the series can move forward. Typically, a year’s four First Spouse Gold Coins and companion Bronze Medals are released in evenly spaced increments throughout the year and in conjunction with the launches of corresponding Presidential $1 coins. 2012 is first time since the program began in 2007 that three-fourths of the year has expired without the debut of a new strike.

Other items yet to have a release date or appear on the U.S. Mint product schedule are the fifteenth design in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program and related products, the 24th Presidential $1 Coin and affiliated products, and the 2012 First Spouse Bronze Four-Medal Set. It is not yet known if there will be another America the Beautiful Quarters Circulating Coin Set like there was in 2010 and 2011.
