5.1.2014 – 2014 Calvin Coolidge $1 Coin Cover

Coin Category: Presidential $1 Coins | Price: $19.95

Calvin Coolidge $1 Coin Covers mark the second release this year and the 30th overall in the Mint’s American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series. Held within a display card are two Coolidge dollars pulled from U.S. Mint plants on the first day they were produced. The coins can be viewed from both sides of the card which has an image of the president on the front and information about him and the coins on the back.

5.6.2014 – 2014 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set™

Coin Category: Presidential $1 Coins | Price: $16.95

This annually issued set is a good one for collectors who enjoy Presidential $1 Coins because it has so many of them. Like previous issues, this year’s set has 8 uncirculated coins with 4 from Denver and 4 from Philadelphia. 2014 dollars honor Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

$1’s are packaged inside a folder that opens to show the coins and information about four presidents.

5.8.2014 – 2014-W Proof American Gold Buffalo Coin

Coin Category: American Buffalos | Price: TBD

American Gold Buffalos are the Mint’s only one-ounce, 24-karat gold coins. Proof and bullion versions have been released annually since 2006, sharing the same designs. Obverses bear James Earle Fraser’s profile of a Native American while reverses depict an American Buffalo. These designs debuted on 1913 buffalo nickels.

This proof version includes a ‘W’ mint mark for the West Point Mint. Since it is made of gold, pricing can change up to weekly depending on a weekly average of the London gold fix.

5.13.2014 – 2014 Mint Set

Coin Category: Annual Sets | Price: $27.95

Always popular and annually issued for decades is the United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set®, or Mint Set. A total of 28 coins are included for the $27.95 price. All coins of the Mint Set are in uncirculated quality with the 14 from Denver in a red-themed folder and the 14 from Philadelphia in a blue-themed folder. Coins include the four 2014 Presidential $1 Coins, the 2014 Native American $1 Coin, the five 2014 America the Beautiful Quarters and the Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime and Kennedy hall-dollar.

5.15.2014 – 2014-P Shenandoah National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin

Coin Category: 5 Oz Silver Coins | Price: $154.95

This 2014-P Shenandoah National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin bears identical designs to the Shenandoah quarter, which was released into circulation on March 31, 2014. The ‘P’ mint mark denotes its production at the Philadelphia Mint.

Unlike Shenandoah quarters, these coins are struck in 5 ounces of 99.9% pure silver to a diameter of three inches. Also, they do not have reeded edges like a quarter but instead have a flat edge with lettering stating the silver fineness and weight.

These five-ounce coins are the second design issued this year and the 22nd in the America the Beautiful coin series.

5.22.2014 – 2014-W Uncirculated American Eagle Gold Coin

Coin Category: American Eagles | Price: TBD

Finally, wrapping up the month of May is the 22-karat 2014-W Uncirculated American Gold Eagle Coin. Like the Buffalo gold coin mentioned earlier, its pricing can change up to weekly.

Obverses have Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ famous Standing Liberty design while reverses bear Miley Busiek’s Family of Eagles design.

American Gold Eagles in proof and bullion debuted in 1986. This uncirculated version was introduced in 2006 and issued annually ever since, minus years 2009-2010. In year’s 2006-2008, it was available in four sizes – 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz. They are now only released in the once-ounce size. Companion 2014 Proof Gold Eagles debuted on April 3, 2014.
