1.08.2013 – 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set

Coin Category: America the Beautiful Quarters | Opening Price: $41.95

Debuting as the first numismatic product of the new year is the Mint’s 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set for $41.95. Shown in the image above, it includes the 16th-20th issues in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program.

These quarters honor White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial in Ohio, Great Basin National Park in Nevada, Fort McHenry Monument and Historic Shrine in Maryland and Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota.

Each of the quarters in this set is composed from 90% silver, accounting for a total silver weight of 0.904 troy ounces. All are minted in San Francisco and bear the "S" mint mark.

There are no ordering limits or mintage limits.

1.15.2013 – 2013 Birth Set

Coin Category: US Coins | Price: $19.95

Marking only the second year of issue is the 2013 Birth Set. The same $19.95 price as the 2012 Birth Set, it includes the same type of proof coins but with the new year’s 2013 date. These include proofs of the Kennedy half-dollar, a White Mountain National Forest quarter, a Roosevelt dime, a Jefferson nickel and a Lincoln penny.

Each coin is struck at the United States Mint facility in San Francisco and bears the "S" mint mark. These coins are held within a folded card that has spaces for a welcome message, the date and time of birth, the length and weight of the baby, a photograph and a lock of the baby’s hair.

1.22.2013 – 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set

Coin Category: America the Beautiful Quarters | Price: $14.95

This set is almost exactly like the quarters silver proof set described earlier in this article. The only differences are that each proof 2013 America the Beautiful Quarter is of clad composition — the same as those found in circulation — instead of 90% silver, the lower $14.95 price and the different color in packaging.

1.24.2013 – 2013-W Proof Silver Eagle

Category: American Silver Eagles | Opening Price: $62.95

The 2013-W Proof Silver Eagle marks its sales debut on January 24, 2013 for $62.95. This price is $3 more than last year’s issue which had sales of 819,217 before selling out. The proof Silver Eagle is extremely popular with collectors as it is usually the best or second-best selling US Mint numismatic product of the year.

These annual coins have been produced since 1986. Different US Mint facilities have been responsible for striking them through the years. The annual proof Silver Eagle has come out of West Point bearing a "W" mint mark since 2001.

1.28.2013 – 2013-S White Mountain National Forest Quarter 40-Coin Rolls

Coin Category: America the Beautiful Quarters | Price: $18.95

Issued first out of the five 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters is the one depicting White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire. Several products launch on January 28, 2013 that feature the quarter. Circulating-quality White Mountain quarters are within several of them.

For $18.95, collectors can purchase a 40-coin roll of the quarters that are struck from San Francisco. These are special issue coins that are not released into circulation like those that are minted in Denver and Philadelphia. 2013 is the second year of issue for these "S" Mint circulating-quality quarters.

Coin Category: America the Beautiful Quarters | Price: $32.95

Philadelphia and Denver struck circulating-quality White Mountain quarters are available January 28 from the US Mint in a two-roll set for $32.95. These are the same coins that will eventually appear in pocket change, but it could take a great deal of effort and time to get them.

As the product name implies, 100-coin bags of circulating-quality White Mountain quarters also launch on January 28. Premium for these are a bit lower at $34.95 with 100 quarters, but the bags also offer more room for the quarters to suffer nicks and scratches as compared to the tightly wrapped rolls.

1.28.2013 – 2013 S, P & D White Mountain National Forest Quarter Three-Roll Sets

Coin Category: America the Beautiful Quarters | Price: TBD

Three-roll sets are a new 2013 product from the US Mint. The bureau is yet to publish more details than the its name.
