2017 $50 Proof American Gold Buffalo
The 2017 $50 Proof American Gold Buffalo goes on sale Thursday

On Wednesday, May 10, there is a very good chance that the United States Mint will lower prices on twenty-five numismatic gold products. The bureau will also establish the opening price for its May 11 release of the 2017-dated Proof American Gold Buffalo.

The U.S. Mint’s collections of gold coins have prices that can change depending on the trending value of gold. The Mint most recently raised prices on April 12 when gold’s weekly average climbed above $1,250 an ounce. The precious metal is now trading at a more than 7-week low and was last down $9.10 to $1,216.90 an ounce.

If Wednesday’s LBMA gold price for the PM remains below $1,250.00 an ounce, then prices of U.S. collector gold coins will fall by as much as $50 for every ounce of the precious metal they contain.

The following table summarizes the current and likely lower prices, and includes the upcoming 24-karat 2017 American Gold Buffalo Coin.

Update: The U.S. Mint reduced coin prices and set the debuting price of the proof Gold Buffalo to $1,590.

At this moment gold is down about $8.00, so hoping gold will go below $1200 by next Tuesday to lower gold prices another $50 bucks for the one oz gold coins.

Mike

Everything that go’s up must come down. In this case you can save $80. Or wait another week $80 could turn into $160!!!

Mike Unser –

Your ‘Update” note at the bottom of the article added today has the wrong price for the 2017 Proof Buffalo gold coin. It should be $1590 instead of $1640.
