On Wednesday, the price of the new 2015-W Uncirculated American Gold Eagle could jump by $50. Other gold coins may also see increases.

Gold prices extended gains to five straight sessions on Monday and they have, despite sharp losses on Tuesday, set the stage for possible hikes in prices of United States Mint coins.

More than two dozen of the Mint’s collectible gold coins could be affected, based on an average of gold which is well over $1,200 an ounce. The agency this year has already made six pricing adjustments. They’re split evenly with instances of decreases and increases. The last time was on April 15 when the weekly average of London gold fell to within the $1,150.00 to $1,199.99 an ounce range.

Coin News Update: The Mint raised gold coin prices early Wednesday afternoon. New prices are in the ‘To’ column further below.

London gold prices on Wednesday must still be considered. The one to watch is the PM price. If it’s at or above $1,200 an ounce, the U.S. Mint will raise prices to the levels shown in the table below. The increases looked to be a guarantee until today. Gold is currently tumbling, down by more than $18 at this writing. It is now holding near $1,207 an ounce.
