A shortened week of coin news is here with the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday. The United States Mint is taking a break from releases — not only for this week but until mid-December, per its product schedule.

Of course, we’ll still have U.S. Mint-related news. Of particular interest, stay tuned for information about the 2014-D Enhanced Uncirculated Native American $1 Coin that just launched in the American $1 Coin and Currency Set.

  1. Canadian 2015 $20 for $20 Silver Coin Subscription Opens – The Royal Canadian Mint is now accepting subscription orders for 2015-dated $20 for $20 silver coins. Subscriptions, promotes the Mint, includes the "first-ever colored $25 for $25 coin and three $20 for $20 coins," plus free ground shipping within Canada and the US for all four coins.

  2. 2014 American $1 Coin & Currency Set for $13.95 – A 2014 Native American $1 Coin from Denver and a Series 2013 $1 Federal Reserve note printed for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City are available today, Nov. 20, within a joint United States Mint and Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) product called the 2014 American $1 Coin and Currency Set. The uncirculated $1 coin and crisp, uncirculated $1 note are sold for $13.95.

  3. Complete Set of 2014 Young Collectors Super Powers Coins – Six unique coins depicting six different superheroes could make for an ideal gift for a youngster — especially when they are grouped together and presented within a superpowers-themed coin album. Available for AUS $81.82, or about US $70.45, is the Perth Mint’s complete set of six 2014 Young Collectors Super Powers Coins. Designs, all by artist Tom Vaughan, are distinctive with each portraying a mighty superhero using their special superpower.

  4. 2014 Kennedy 50c Product Sales as of Nov. 16 – New United States Mint sales figures show much more modest weekly gains across the three 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half-Dollar products that include a total of 7 coins in varying finishes and compositions.

  5. 3-Coin Set of 2014 Everglades National Park Quarters – Today, Nov. 18, the United States Mint released the 2014 Everglades National Park Quarters Three-Coin Set for $9.95, the same price as 14 past sets which remain available. These sets have one uncirculated coin from the Denver Mint, one uncirculated coin from the Philadelphia Mint and one proof coin from the San Francisco Mint.
