Both coins were minted on the first day of production at their respective striking locations. The first day of minting in Denver was April 14, 2014. The coin went into production in Philadelphia on March 5, 2014.

The front side of the display card features a portrait of President Roosevelt and the postmark of September 10, 2014, Hyde Park, NY — denoting the first day the Franklin D. Roosevelt $1 Coin Cover was issued and where Roosevelt grew up. The back of the display card offers information about FDR, the dollar coins and the cover itself.

Designs on FDR Presidential $1 Coins

Designed by Joseph Menna, obverses or "heads side" of the dollar depict a likeness of Roosevelt with surrounding inscriptions that read: FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, IN GOD WE TRUST, 32nd PRESIDENT and 1933-1945 for the years he was in office.
