This latest release, composed of 99.99% fine silver, has its mintage restricted to 8,500. The previous two coins from the banknote series had the same mintage and sold out.

Shown on the coin’s reverse is a lion design first seen on an early banknote from Canada’s Northern Crown Bank.

"Stunning engraving brings to life every detail of the striking lion portrait depicted in the original vignette."

Introduced in 2013, the Canadian banknote series has featured the following coins:

The design and release date of the fourth and final issue is yet to be announced.
