One of the Spousetivities is tea and a tour at Brown Palace, the second oldest hotel in Denver.

The 2014 American Numismatic Association Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs, Colorado kicks off in June, and for spouses and family members accompanying their numismatists, the ANA added "Spousetivities" to the program.

Spousetivities are organized activities designed to entertain while the significant other is attending educational classes.

These day adventures with fellow ‘spousees’ include exploring the historic town of Manitou Springs, shopping at Denver’s Park Meadows Mall, bonding over afternoon tea at one of Denver’s oldest hotels, and enjoying Denver’s Botanic Gardens. Each activity starts in the morning and returns to the ANA campus in the afternoon. A registration fee takes care of transportation and admission costs, and space is limited so early registration is highly recommended.

"We want to recognize the family members who are here supporting their numismatists. These activities are a chance for ANA spouses to connect with each other while their family members are in class," said Amber Bradish, ANA education assistant.

Specific details for each excursion are given on ANA’s website, found here, and more information about ANA’s Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs including a course catalog is located here. The numismatic Summer Seminar is a week-long session, with two separate weeks scheduled to allow for more attendees. The first session runs from Saturday June 21 to Thursday, June 26, and the second is from Saturday June 28 to Thursday July 3.

Spouses and family members may register now for Spousetivities by calling Bradish at 719-482-9865 or by email abradish@money.org.
