Today, Nov. 26, 2013, the United States Mint released its second Presidential $1 Coin and First Spouse Medal Set for 2013. This latest one honors Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, and his wife, Edith.
Contained within it are two collectible products, an uncirculated Presidential $1 Coin depicting Teddy Roosevelt and a bronze medal bearing the likeness of Edith Roosevelt First Spouse Gold Coins. The Presidential $1 Coin and bronze medal are mounted in a decorative card with portraits of the President and First Lady, along with their signatures.
Proof and uncirculated Edith Roosevelt First Spouse Gold Coins debuted just last week, on Nov. 21, 2013. These $10 coins are struck in one-half ounce of 24-karat gold. Currently, the proof gold coin is priced at $840 and the uncirculated gold coin is $820. These prices may vary weekly based on the gold market.
Roosevelt’s Presidential $1 Coins were released in rolls, bags and boxes on April 11, 2013. These products range in price from $32.95 to $550.95.

Sales of the sets began at noon ET at a price of $9.95. This product does not come with any mintage or household limits.

In past years, the United States Mint would offer First Spouse bronze medals by themselves, but this option was discontinued in 2011. Since then, Presidential $1 Coin and First Spouse Medal Sets have been a main source four acquiring the bronze medals that honor our First Ladies of the past.
There is also another option, the annual First Spouse Bronze Medal Set. This year’s set will include five bronze medals, including the one for Edith Roosevelt. It is scheduled for a December release at an issue price of $16.95.
