This year’s series is dedicated to female allegorical figures that represent peace, justice and liberty.

"This print Liberty features an exquisite compilation of unique engraved allegorical vignettes focusing on the age-old art of intaglio printing," the BEP describes on its website.

Depicted on the Liberty Intaglio Print are three major decorative designs. As they appear to the left, right and the bottom of the card:

  • To the left is the Vignette/Liberty (Miscellaneous Die #6122) as engraved by G.F.C. Smillie, 1914. It was used on the $5,000 Puerto Rico Irrigation Registered Bond Face, Gold Loan of 1919.

  • To the right is Vignette/America (Miscellaneous Die #7072) as engraved by Marcus W. Baldwin, 1908.

  • At the bottom center is Vignette/Patria (Miscellaneous Die #13463) as engraved by John Eissler, 1936.

Earlier and still available 2013 Intaglio Prints from the Ideals in Allegory series include:

  • Peace, released on June 3, 2013
  • Justice, released on July 8, 2013

Images of all three prints are shown below.
