United States Mint sales figures place early orders for the newly released 2013 US Mint Proof Set at 205,740.

2013 US Mint Proof Set
Sales of the 2013 US Mint Proof Set topped 200,000 in five days

That is the sales total between its release on Thursday, March 28, and Monday, April 1.

Priced at $31.95 for a fourth straight year, the annual product is highly popular with coin collectors and should eventually notch the highest sales of any 2013-dated numismatic offering from the Mint.

Its debuting performance is on par or perhaps better than last year’s set which unexpectedly sold out. A direct comparison is not possible since starting sales for the two sets were reported between different periods. The set from 2012 logged debut sales of 243,494 in one week’s time. It launched early in the week, on a Monday.

The following table provides opening and ending sales figures for recently issued proof sets.
