On Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, the third 2012-P America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin sold out.
No longer available is the numismatic coin depicting Denali National Park in Alaska. Launched on Nov. 5, 2012 at a debuting price of $204.95, sales for the 2012-P Denali Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin totaled 14,552 as of Feb. 25. It jumped 721 during the previous seven days while priced at $229.95.
[Update Note: Sales for the Denali silver coin increased 673 to 15,225 between February 25 and March 4. The U.S. Mint did not report any new sales in the following week, which means the final unaudited Denali total remains 15,225.]
The ATB five ounce series has caught collectors’ attention as a result of recent sellouts. A week ago the 2012-P Acadia National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin was pulled from U.S. Mint store shelves. Before it, the silver coin honoring Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park went off sale in mid-January.

As the figures above are current to Monday and the 2012-P Denali coin sold out on Tuesday, its tally will increase a bit in next week’s U.S. Mint sales report. So far, it has the lowest mintage of any ATB five ounce coin.
To date, the three sellouts have occurred close to the 15,000 marker, which is well below the 25,000 mintage levels published when they launched.
The U.S. Mint has held off on announcing when the 2013-dated coins will debut as it decides on mintages. The Mint has already announced their higher pricing at $244.95 each.
So how come some products like this are pulled after 3 months while others continue to drag on as long as three years?
Because the US MINT is a Govt. run agency. Do I really need to explain further?
I had a similar experience with the Spouse series. They ran into production problems with the uncirculated series and just gave up. At least they sent me a letter explaining why I did not get the coin I had ordered months prior.
In both cases the collectors are again the losers.
I just received my last two P-puck Denali today, order number 40958xxx placed late last week. No doubt among the last sold.
Yep, me too, about 2 hours ago. Can’t wait to get home and see if they’re in one piece…LOL
I’m gonna start ’em on eBay for a cool One Thousand Dollars and see if I get any nibbles..!!

Hard to outguess the Mint. Just wonder why the organizations privy to mintage information do not publish on timely basis. Seems a bit shady that the Denali sales jumped 721 in week before they sold out. Kitco et al seem to be holding these cards close to the vest.
Just as a fyi… the U.S. Mint sends organizations numismatic sales data once a week — usually on Tuesday or Wednesday. U.S. Mint sales reports are current to the previous Monday. We’re thrilled to receive them as most world mints, at best, tend to publish very limited and very infrequent sales information.
Not really hard for me to believe they jumped so much in a week. People sensed a quick sellout. So they are buying to turn around and try to make a quick profit. I can see what is happening. The sets where the flippers can’t make money are probably a lot closer to their true demand. Last years San Francisco set comes to mind. I am a little guy collecting a few coins and really do not act on published info. Just lucky to p/u some coins that I like. The ATB 5 oz. coin is one that I try to follow more just to put away some silver. Are you saying that the mint selectively chooses not to issue weekly info on these and this is not available anywhere? I only check this site and coinupdate.com. Are regular weekly updates of the current collectables offered anywhere to the general public that you are aware of?
