With one release left in 2011, the United States Mint is getting ready for next year’s early product launches and has already published a schedule with line ups for the first two months.

2012 America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Sets
America the Beautiful Quarter Proof Sets are among the early releases in 2012. Shown above are U.S. Mint images of the clad and silver set.

Similar to last year, the United States Mint will be offering core numismatic products early, such as clad and silver proof sets. The Mint will also finish up two remaining 2011-dated strikes, the Vicksburg and Chickasaw America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins.

The table below lists 2011’s final product and next year’s product schedule that ranges from January to February with nine entries. As always, the Mint indicates that the schedule may change at any time.

As of this writing, only two of the scheduled 2012 products have listed prices. Next year’s America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set is currently listed at a price of $41.95 and the companion America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set is shown at a price of $14.95. The quarters released this year honor El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico, Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico, Acadia National Park in Maine, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in Hawaii and Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska.

Two commemorative coin programs are slated for 2012. The first will be the 2012 Infantry Soldier Silver Dollar commemorative coins, and the second, whose release date is not yet available, will be the gold and silver 2012 Star-Spangled Banner commemorative coins.

The United States Mint is authorized to issue up to 350,000 Infantry Soldier coins in 2012. The launch date is set for February 16, and the $10 per coin surcharge from sales will be paid to the National Infantry Foundation to support the maintenance of the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center. The line art designs for the silver dollars were unveiled in October.

Two remaining 2011-dated products are scheduled approximately a month apart in 2012, which is nothing new in the America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins™ series. Minting and selling these 3-inch diameter coins were a challenge in 2010, as the five 2010 collector versions had to be sold during the early half of 2011.

The Vicksburg National Military Park 5 Oz Silver Uncirculated Coin honoring the park in Mississippi and the Chickasaw National Recreation Area Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin featuring the park in Oklahoma. Both will have the same designs as the circulating America the Beautiful Quarters® and are expected to be limited to a maximum mintage of 35,000 each.
