US Mint Last Opportunity pageThe United States Mint today has added a new section to its online store entitled "Last Opportunity."

The last chance reminder includes a variety of 2009-dated offerings like proof and mint sets, coin covers, and the remaining rolls of 2009 Lincoln pennies.

The listing goes hand in hand with its updated product schedule which was published on Tuesday and provides release dates for several new 2010 offerings that will replace the soon to be retired 2009 products.

US Mint Product ScheduleThe United States Mint today updated its schedule to include release dates for coins and products that will launch in June and July. A number of popular offerings will be available in proof, uncirculated, silver and gold.

Several new coin designs will be featured with additional America the Beautiful Quarter Product releases. Also in the works is the next Presidential $1 coin and corresponding First Spouse Gold piece. Then there is the 24 karat 2010 Buffalo Gold Proof coin.

Plus, several annual sets will arrive, including the 2010 Proof Set and the 2010 Mint Uncirculated Set. These are always extremely most popular with collectors — sales of the 2009 sets have already combined to over 2.2 million.

The latest coin sales figures for the 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars have been released by the United States Mint.

Their new weekly gain of 951 is down from last week’s 8,007 increase. Not helping the numbers was a negative shift for the uncirculated Scouts coin.

Those sold out to a waiting list on April 26, which ended on April 29 when they were moved to the US Mint’s "No Longer Available" category. New adjusted uncirculated sales stand at 107,296, which is 1,375 lower than last week’s report.

2010 American Buffalo Gold Proof CoinCollectors awaiting the release of the 2010 American Buffalo Gold Proof Coin will not have to wait much longer. According to the United States Mint, sales for the one ounce .9999 fine, 24-karat gold piece will commence on June 3, 2010.

The US Mint has been striking the one ounce proof Buffalo since 2006, and offered fractional sizes in 2008. Unfortunately, the smaller versions lasted less than one year as the Mint canceled them as part of their portfolio trimming announced in November 2008.

The Buffalos have experienced roller-coaster availably with demand for gold coins taking off in 2008, leaving supply shortages. The Mint suspended sales several times as a result.

The United States Mint on Thursday issued a press statement officially announcing a Thursday, May 13, release date for the 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set.

The set includes the first proof quarters that will be issued this year and the first from the America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program which celebrates national parks and national sites with rotating quarter-dollar reverse designs.

The new clad set has not gone up in price, despite the fact that it includes one less quarter than the 2009 version. At noon Eastern Time on the 13th, collectors can order the 2010 proof set for $14.95, plus the standard $4.95 shipping and handling charge.
