US Coin Production: 2009 Cents, Quarters and $1s Rise

0

With the month of August closed out, the United States Mint has provided the latest circulating coin production figures. There are no real surprises in the numbers, as there was in July when more nickels were again minted. Perhaps of most interest, James K. Polk Presidential $1 mintages are now available. But first, to the table of August numbers:

US Mint 2009 Circulating Coin Production in August

Denver Philadelphia Total
2009 Lincoln Cents 141,600,000 145,200,000 228,800,000
Jefferson Nickels 0 0 0
Roosevelt Dimes 0 0 0
Quarters 22,400,000 40,200,000 69,200,000
Kennedy Half Dollars 0 0 0
Native American $1 0 0 0
Presidential $1s 0 2,240,000 2,240,000
Total 164,000,000 187,640,000 351,640,000

The US Mint facility in Philadelphia was slightly busier. Similar to the month prior, most of the action surrounded 2009 Lincoln Cents.

As a reference, the above figures are derived using the difference between the latest and prior US Mint coin production figures which are found at:

More interesting to see are the mintage figures by coin design. Here are available numbers to date:

Lincoln Professional Life Cents are still being produced.
