Lincoln, Braille & UHR Sales Figures – April 9

US Mint Sales Figures ImageThe latest US Mint sales figures has data shifting not only up, but down. Lincoln $1s and Birthplace penny roll totals were clipped lower. Braille Silver Dollars improved nicely, and the pace of Ultra High Relief (UHR) Gold coin slowed even more.

A magical correction has appeared for the Lincoln Silver Dollars. Whether it was customer returns, cancellations or Mint accounting tweaks, the proof and uncirculated sales figures are now aligned with the stars. Combined sales dropped by 15,614.

A perfect 325,000 sold is listed for the proof and an all-natural 125,000 for the uncirculated option. And with those numbers, 50,000 are left for the special 5-coin proof set the Mint will release later this year. Last week the numbers were twisted in what appeared to be an apparent oversell of coins, leaving less than 35,000 coins free for the special set.

Also, sales of the two-roll sets containing the Lincoln birthplace pennies were adjusted lower. For the prior two weeks of reporting, the sales total for the set had been 97,149. They are now an even 96,000.

Louis Braille Silver Dollars are doing well, but not as many are flying off Mint store shelves compared to the first week. 28,167 additional commemoratives were sold, bringing the new total up to 70,274. Braille $1s were first offered two weeks ago (Thursday, March 26.)

And finally, UHR $20 gold coins are presently weeping along. The Mint continues to have delayed shipping notices for new orders despite the latest figures showing only 491 more have sold since the last report. The tally is up to 57,018. And yes, the one per household order limit is still in place.

re: Lincoln silver $1 mintage.
Usually the American Legacy Collection issued at the end of the year contains one each of the commemorative silver $1 – that’s another 50,000. I wonder where they’re going to get them from?
