US Mint Sales Figures ImageSales of Lincoln Bicentennial Dollars are screaming along and Ultra High Relief (UHR) Double Eagle Gold coins hit a new milestone.

Lincoln Bicentennial Silver Dollar sales figures blasted forward, with the proof coins surging an impressive 45.9 percent higher than the prior numbers and the uncirculated coins rising 35.1 percent.

A combined 99,803 were purchased in the last several days, pushing the total sold to 335,051 since the commemoratives first went on sale Feb. 12. That is within reach of the 500,000 mintage limit. More over, an amount within the 500,000 is also reserved for a yet to be announced special set.

009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold CoinHow many of you are upset with the United States Mint over your Ultra High Relief (UHR) Gold coin order?

I’ve been there too. I’ve felt frustration in receiving backorder e-mail notices. My worst moment was hearing from another collector who received her UHR even though she ordered it behind mine — my order was placed within the first 55 minutes.

But consider… Unless you’re an avid numismatic forum or blog reader, your experience in ordering the coin has probably been limited to 2-3 Mint emails, with the most recent explaining part of the UHR shipping delay. Has that experience been absolutely egregious as some of the online chatter would suggest?

2009 Lincoln PennyThe United States Mint today updated its Product Release Schedule and has added slots for 2009 Lincoln Penny Rolls.

Here is the schedule (note the general dates for the final three pennies):

Spring Lincoln Cent Formative Years
Summer Lincoln Cent Professional Life
Winter Lincoln Cent Presidency

Up until today, the Mint had not publicly indicated that 2009 Lincoln rolls would be offered. However, the difficulty in finding the new pennies at banks or in circulation led many collectors to assume such an offering would eventually come.
