BEP Announces 2009 Intaglio Print Subscription Program: Lincoln Bicentennial Series

Abraham Lincoln PortraitThe Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) announced on Monday that it is offering the 2009 Intaglio Print Subscription Program entitled "Lincoln Bicentennial Series."

The series includes five 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Series intaglio prints featuring an "exquisite compilation of unique engraved postage stamps, portraits and vignettes showcasing the age old art of intaglio printing."

According to the BEP, this year’s Intaglio Print Program is:

 

Dedicated to commemorating the 200th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday by featuring five stages of his life: "Humble Beginnings," "Family," "A Nation Torn Apart," "Emancipation," and "Legacy."

 

The prints will be released on five separate days and coincide with the following BEP exhibition events:

March 13 – 15, 2009

Whitman Baltimore Coin and Collectibles Convention
Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Maryland
March 26 – 28, 2009

Central States Numismatic Society 70th Anniversary Convention

50th Texas State Coin and Currency Show

Price and order information

The subscription program price is $85, a savings of $15 compared to individual purchases. The program ensures collectors will receive all the Lincoln commemorative prints as long as a subscription is completed by January 31, 2009.

The United States Mint will also celebrate Lincoln’s birth by circulating four new Lincoln Cent Designs in 2009 and up to 500,000 commemorative silver dollars for collectors.
