Examples of the Presidential $1 Coins inluded in the U.S. Mint 2007 Proof SetThe United States Mint is having a busy week! Earlier this week they started selling the 2007 American Eagle Platinum and Uncirculated Coins and the Dr. Norman E. Borlaug Bronze Medal. Today at 12:00 noon (ET) they’ll make the 2007 United States Mint Proof Set® available.

With the addition of the four Presidential $1 Coins, the sets are going to be even larger this year. They’ll include 14 coins! Of course, with the increase also comes an increase in price. But not like you’re probably thinking. The 2007 Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set is $14.95 by itself. Thankfully, that amount isn’t getting tagged on top of last year’s proof set price of $22.95.

According to the U.S. Mint press release, the 14 coin proof set will be $26.95. So for the rundown, for $26.95 you’ll get proofs of the:

  • Lincoln one-cent coin
  • Jefferson 5-cent coin
  • Roosevelt dime
  • Montana state quarter
  • Washington state quarter
  • Idaho state quarter
  • Wyoming state quarter
  • Utah state quarter
  • Kennedy half-dollar
  • Golden Sacagawea Dollar
  • Washington $1 Coin
  • Adams $1 Coin
  • Jefferson $1 Coin
  • Madison $1 Coin

There is no order limit for the proofs. At the beginning of this week, nearly two million of the 2006 clad proof sets had been sold since last year.

It’ll be interesting to see if the addition of the four presidential dollars will help spike up the 2007 proof set numbers.
